Blogging is becoming more and more popular. It seems like everyone has something they want to say about something at some point and time and that’s the way to do it. But for businesses around the world, blogs have become a great way to get the word out about their company and many of the services that are being offered OMG Blog. If you’re the business owner there are times that your private online journal needs to stay far away from your professional one.
There are many risky subjects out there and if you’re passionate about one of them, and spend a lot of time writing about it then the two shouldn’t meet. You need to keep your personal and professional worlds separate. It’s important for you to have a life outside your business but that doesn’t mean that your clients should know how you feel on certain issues. Unless your business directly deals with those issues it’s best to keep the two apart.
Another good reason to keep your personal and professional blog separate from one another: Facebook. Okay, that might not seem like a good reason but many people use their personal site to show case many of the fun aspects of their lives. It’s been all over news sites about how Facebook has cost people jobs and educational opportunities. Any type of personal site that is linked to a professional one can do the same thing. If you have racy photos or comments that make you seem irresponsible it won’t help your business grow it will only hurt your business.
